A Saturday in June

We have enjoyed a beautiful Saturday. It started out with some difficulties when 2 of our 3 lawn mower/tractors would not start. Seeing as how all of the grass on our property needed cutting, this was not good news. After a trip to Lowes and some skilled tinkering by Doug, they were back in working order and doing their job.

I have been busy in the kitchen. I made 4 loaves of wheat bread, a batch of oatmeal/butterscotch chip cookies, and a batch of buttermilk biscuits. We enjoyed the biscuits for dinner along with fresh eggs, bacon, and fruit salad.

Doug put in a new perennial bed for me this evening. Thank you Honey!!!! The picture is a little dark because it was pretty late in the evening. I'll take another one tomorrow when there's better light.

Good night !!

I made delicious zucchini bread from the huge yellow squash that I found hiding in the garden last night. Yummy!!!!

Well, here is my first post on my first blog. I have been an avid blog reader for quite a while, and I have decided to take the plunge and try out one of my own.

My reasons for this blog:

Keep in touch with family and friends

Meet new blogger friends

Have a place to share lots of pictures

Have a diary of our day-to-day life to look back on

Learn more about the computer

Have a place to organize my thoughts

I'm sure I'll think of many more reasons, but these were the first to come to mind. Please be patient with me as I figure all of this out. I will try not to be too boring in the meantime.
More later...
